Eligibility
The Ibhunga Le Silo Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that its programs and initiatives reach the most deserving individuals and communities. To maintain fairness and effectiveness in our service delivery, eligibility criteria have been established for participation in various programs and funding opportunities.
General Eligibility Criteria
Residency & Community Involvement
- Applicants must reside in South Africa, particularly in underprivileged townships and rural areas where the Foundation operates.
- Must be actively involved in community development initiatives or demonstrate a commitment to personal and social upliftment.
Age & Program Suitability
- Youth development programs are open to individuals between 18 – 35 years.
- Entrepreneurship and skills development programs are open to individuals of all ages who meet the training requirements.
Commitment & Participation
- Applicants must be willing to fully engage in the selected program, including training sessions, community projects, and mentorship activities.
- Participants must not be engaged in conflicting programs that may hinder full participation in the Foundation’s initiatives.
Financial & Social Need
- Preference is given to individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including unemployed youth, single mothers, and marginalized groups.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need and a willingness to participate in empowerment initiatives.
Entrepreneurship & Business Development Support
- Must have a viable business idea or an existing small business that aligns with the Foundation’s objectives.
- Businesses should focus on social impact, economic empowerment, or sustainable development.
Specific Program Eligibility
- Educational & Training Programs
- Must meet the academic or skill-level requirements for the selected program.
- Should not be currently enrolled in a similar scholarship or funding program that provides the same benefits.

Bereavement & Social Support Services
- Must be a registered member of the Foundation’s support programs.
- Families seeking funeral or bereavement aid must provide necessary documentation to verify eligibility.
Important Notes
- Duplicate Applications: Applicants are not allowed to apply for multiple financial aid programs within the Foundation simultaneously unless specified otherwise.
- Disqualification: Any applicant found providing false information will be disqualified and may be subject to further review.
- Code of Conduct: All beneficiaries are expected to adhere to the Foundation’s rules, ensuring ethical conduct and respect for program guidelines.
